St. Christopher’s Family Fun Day Halloween Party

We had a spook-tacular time at our Halloween Party yesterday. Thank you to all who entered cakes in our contest and for the volunteers who made the day such a success! We made crafts, ran a relay race, went trick or treating, read a spooky story, and finally enjoyed pizza and 8 yummy cakes and punch! What a fun day for all! Happy Halloween!

St. Christopher’s Mission to Young People

The mission of St. Christopher’s Children and Youth Ministry is to create a safe and welcoming place for all young people to learn about God, grow in his Love and serve others.

Sunday Mornings:  All Are Welcome!

We offer a variety of ministries for children and young people.  During the 10:00AM worship service children and youth may participate in age-appropriate ministries:

  • Nursery: Birth-Pre-K
  • Sunday School: Children Pre-K/K, Grades 1,2,3; and Grades 4,5,6
  • Confirmation Class (When in Session)
  • Youth Group: Youth Grades 7-12

Nursery

The nursery is available every Sunday for all children from birth to pre-kindergarten.  It is located in the parish hall, room #6 (straight ahead when you walk in).  A silent pager system is used so that parents can be easily reached if needed. Also, this brightly decorated room full of toys is a toddler’s dream! They’ll love playing while you attend service. Ann Catania is a long-time coordinator for the nursery and is very attentive and caring.

Sunday School

Sunday school is offered for grades Pre-K through 6th grade.  We offer three separate classes grouped according to age:  Pre-K and Kindergarten;  grades 1,2, 3;  and grades 4, 5, 6.   Each class meets at 10am in the downstairs of the parish hall.

The classes are taught by parent volunteers and we are always open to allowing new parishioners to get involved.  We currently have 9 wonderful parishioners volunteering to teach classes.

Our Sunday School classrooms are newly decorated and are very inviting. The curriculum follows the same scripture as the adults service, so you’ll know what your children are being taught.

Our Sunday School children will be working with Choirmaster Scott Drackley to periodically perform classic Sunday School Songs for our Congregation.

Lastly, this year we are hoping to make our Youth Program more attractive to our youth and families by planning ST. CHRISTOPHER’S FAMILY FUN DAYS. These events are for ALL families at St. Christopher’s to attend. We want St. Christopher’s to be a place you can enjoy with your whole family, not just for Sunday Service. Our Church community will grow stronger though families breaking bread and having fun together. So please join us!

Confirmation Class

For youth ages 13 and up, Confirmation Class prepares children for the sacrament of confirmation. The intent of this class is to allow students to take ownership of their faith by learning about God and the history of the Christian Church.  By studying the Bible and the Book of Common Prayer, students will begin to understand their spiritual journey. This class meets in the library and is taught by Skip Irvine, our Youth Ministries Vestry Member.

Young Group Meeting

Young adults in grades 7-12, whether confirmed or not, are always welcome to join the Youth Group class at 10am on Sunday mornings.  We at St. Christopher’s believe that youth need the opportunity to discuss the challenges of life and seek the advice of God’s word.  Our class offers a safe place to seek God in Scripture, prayer, and the community of others.

This class meets in the Youth Room downstairs and is led by Tommie Stephens and Brianna Foti.  For more information, see what’s happening in Youth Group on the Youth webpage.
